Fife Writes is a group of writers set up with support from Create in Fife in February 2014.
Our main aim is to be a peer support group for writers of all genres, to encourage each other to write and share our work. To do this we hold free events that include storytelling, short stories, novels, poetry, performance, songs, music and workshops, once per month across Fife. We actively encourage networking. Our Events are open to over 250 people who are on our Membership List, in Fife and beyond, their friends and all interested people.
Our members come from every corner of Fife, and further afield – Aboyne, Alloa, Ardrossan, Blairgowrie, Broughty Ferry, Dumfries, Dunbar, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Peterhead and Poland. We welcome you wherever you are.
Many of our members are professional or budding writers, comedians, editors, musicians, performers, photographers, playwrights, publishers, around forty poets, five artists, two actors, and one composer – so a broad range of talent. And, of course, our other members just like to be entertained.
Announcement February 2020
We are pleased to announce that the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) has now granted us charitable status, which we hope will allow us to apply for funding to pay for venues for gigs, workshops and locally run creative projects.
To fulfill OSCR’s remit we now need to create a formal membership. Being a member will entitle you to priority invitations when we are inviting readers, performers and musicians for gigs and workshops. See Membership page for more details.
Why not join us, it’s free.
