We are pleased to announce that our 65th event will start at 7.30 p.m. and finish at 9.30 p.m. on Thursday 21 November 2019 in Firestation Creative in Dunfermline. The doors open at 7.00 p.m. A bar is available.
David Cruickshanks is our Guest MC, but will also make us laugh
David is a mental health worker by day and an actor and comedian by night. He became a comedian after attending comedy classes for people with mental health issues when the person next to him was struggling with anxiety so much that he thought to himself what’s the worst that can happen? He then battled his own anxiety and got on stage and performed a 2-minute set about his mum having a heart attack after being attacked by a seagull in Kirkcaldy. David now writes comedy for the stage and radio, including Radio Scotland’s award-winning comedy show Breaking the News. He also performed at this year’s Glasgow Comedy Festival and The Edinburgh Festival and is working on material for his one man Edinburgh Fringe show next year called Middle aged and Mental.

Vulture Party, a group with Dickson Telfer, is described as a Falkirk-based mixed gender four piece, who play disquieting alt pop for the socially conscious. Here are a few quotes: “Well worth your attention . . . Vulture Party are one to watch.” – Scots Whay Hae. “New Humans is Numan-esque.” – Francis McFaul, former guitarist with Cliff Richard. “Beautiful songs, lyrics and vibes. A winning combination.” – Lisa May Young, radio presenter, K107FM. “Superb. Louise’s vocal style reminds me of Lana Del Ray and Anna Calvi.” – Derek S, Editor of Razur Cuts magazine.
The bands’ website is here – https://vulturepartyband.com/
Dickson has produced audio versions of some of his short stories, now available on his website. Two of them are pretty sweary, but hopes that some people may fancy listening to them – https://dicksontelfer.wordpress.com/r-e-a-d-l-i-s-t-e-n/
